Mon Club Près de Chez Moi — 150k locations, lightning-fast search and mapping at scale

For Mon Club Près de Chez Moi, we delivered a high-performance, fully customised location platform built on Woosmap’s complete API suiteStores, Distance, Geolocation, Maps (Map JS) and Data Management — to power discovery across a catalogue of ~150,000 locations.

Data engineering at scale (150,000+ locations)

The project started with a hard problem: the raw data was large, inconsistent, and not production-ready. We designed and implemented a repeatable ingestion pipeline that:

  • purified, deduplicated, normalised, and enriched location records (address, geo coordinates, taxonomy, metadata)
  • merged multiple sources into a single canonical location model
  • used the Woosmap Data Management API to bulk import and continually maintain the dataset
  • ensured the platform could evolve over time without slowing down or requiring rebuilds

The result: a dataset that stays clean, queryable, and scalable — and a platform that can grow without performance collapsing.

Bespoke mapping UX (not a template)

On the front end, we built a bespoke Map JS experience designed specifically for high-density discovery:

  • custom markers and clustering behaviour to keep the map readable at every zoom level
  • fast, multi-criteria filtering (categories, services, location-based constraints) built for real users, not demos
  • responsive UI that behaves like an application, not a brochure site
  • precision distance and ranking using Woosmap’s Distance tooling so results feel “obviously correct”

Performance first

Large datasets often lead to slow maps, janky interaction, and user drop-off. This build was engineered to avoid that from day one:

  • optimised data structures and requests to minimise payloads
  • careful separation of map rendering vs results logic (so neither blocks the other)
  • tuned query patterns so the UI remains instant and responsive even with dense results
  • designed the system to scale cleanly as locations and usage increase

Even with ~150k locations, the platform delivers smooth navigation, fast filtering, and a consistently responsive map.

A modernised foundation

Beyond UX, the project modernised the overall platform approach — proving what’s possible when Woosmap isn’t used “out of the box”, but treated as a flexible toolkit. The final build sets a new benchmark for large-scale, data-driven location discovery, combining robust data management, bespoke interface design, and production-grade performance.
