Fennies — Multi-view nursery discovery with transport routing and live recruitment mapping (delivered as a pure Webflow embed)
For Fennies, we built a bespoke location discovery experience that lets parents explore nurseries through list, grid, and map views, grouped by familiar regions (e.g. Kent, Surrey) for fast, intuitive navigation. Map markers link directly to dedicated nursery pages with clean, static maps — ensuring the journey from browsing to details is instant and reliable.
Multi-mode browsing that stays coherent
Rather than forcing users into a single interface, we designed a system that supports different browsing behaviours without confusion:
- region-based browsing for quick scanning
- map-based exploration for spatial decision-making
- consistent UI patterns across list/grid/map so switching views feels effortless
Travel-aware decision making (Transit + Distance routing)
Nursery choice is as much about logistics as it is about preference. To make the experience genuinely useful, we integrated:
- Transit API to show public transport routes
- Distance API to provide route options and travel times for walking, cycling, and driving
This turns discovery into practical planning — especially valuable for parents comparing multiple locations.
A novel integration: Greenhouse jobs plotted live on the map
We also created a real-time Greenhouse integration that overlays live job listings directly onto the map. This gives users a uniquely combined experience:
- explore nurseries geographically
- see relevant local roles in the same interface
- unify two journeys — parent discovery and recruitment discovery — without sending users elsewhere
Engineered for Webflow, delivered in pure JavaScript + HTML
Critically, the entire solution was designed to fit seamlessly within Webflow using pure JavaScript and HTML — no framework, no build pipeline, no ongoing development burden:
- embeddable components that Friends of Mine can place directly into Webflow pages
- predictable behaviour across devices, with performance-conscious loading
- easy to maintain and extend without touching a frontend toolchain
The result is a fully integrated, high-usability platform that enhances the customer experience while remaining simple to deploy and operate.
